What did you have in mind?

Bespoke: size, colour, finish

Open plans are cheap to draw and expensive to live in: sooner or later every team asks for rooms back. Mood by Las Mobili — the maker of the Jera executive desk — designed by Paolo Pampanoni, gives them back without turning the office dark — a system of single-glazed and double-glazed partition walls built, in the manufacturer's words, for complete transparency and brightness, with minimum visual encumbrance, maximum mechanical resistance and recyclable, sustainably manufactured materials (as declared by Las Mobili).

Four versions, one grammar, sorted by how visible you want the structure: M1 single-glazed on 22 x 40 mm click-assembled aluminum profiles; M2 double-glazed on 50 x 40 mm profiles with an air chamber for acoustics; MM minimal, with the floor profile slimmed to 22 x 22 mm; MN with omega profiles fully hidden in floor and ceiling. Privacy comes with numbers — manufacturer data: 34 dB with 10/11 mm laminated glass, 37 dB with 12/13 mm acoustic glass, 38 dB double-glazed, 41 dB with double acoustic glass. And the field conditions are engineered in: ±15 mm height tolerance, telescopic vertical profiles, variable corners for angles other than 90°, stiffening profiles past 5 meters of run.

Doors, hardware and the technical backbone

The system's doors do the daily work: full-height swing doors — B1 wood, D1/D2/D10 framed glass, E1/E2 all-glass in 10 mm tempered opening to about 180° with concealed or hydraulic hinges — and external sliding doors on a fully concealed upper rail, single or double leaf. Push-bar antipanic hardware, electric strikes and the 120 x 50 mm technical module beside the frame keep code compliance, access control and wiring inside the wall. Glass goes satin, screen-printed or LCD-switchable on request; profiles in oxidized silver, matt black, glossy silver light or any RAL; wood leaves in sixteen melamine finishes. The freestanding version at 2220 mm builds meeting rooms where the ceiling is off-limits, and Mood Box glazed modules top off equipped storage walls. FAQ

How does one partition system cover both everyday rooms and executive floors?

Through its four versions. M1 single-glazed on 22 x 40 mm profiles handles the everyday grid of meeting and focus rooms; MM slims the floor profile to 22 x 22 mm and MN hides omega profiles entirely for the floors where structure should vanish; M2 double-glazed on 50 x 40 mm profiles adds the air chamber that boardrooms and HR offices need. Same language, mixable room by room — the office reads as one project.

What acoustic performance can we actually count on?

The manufacturer declares it in decibels: 34 dB with standard 10/11 mm laminated glass, 37 dB with 12/13 mm acoustic glass, 38 dB with double glazing, 41 dB with double acoustic glass. Read them as a ladder — corridor separation at the bottom, salary conversations at the top — and specify per room instead of paying for the maximum everywhere.

Which doors are available — and how do codes and access control fit in?

Full-height swing doors in wood (B1), framed glass (D1, D2, D10) and all-glass 10 mm tempered opening to about 180° (E1 concealed hinges, E2 hydraulic), plus external sliding doors on a concealed rail (F1, N, G) — single or double leaf. Push-bar antipanic hardware mounts on E1, E2 and B1 for egress requirements; electric strikes take care of access control; the 120 x 50 mm technical module beside the frame carries switches and wiring inside the system.

Our slab is uneven and the corners are not square — will a glass wall work?

That is the condition Mood is engineered for: ±15 mm of height tolerance, wall registration with slabs inserted, telescopic verticals for true plumb, variable aluminum corners for non-90° angles and stiffening profiles past 5 meters. And when the ceiling cannot be touched — historic buildings, service plenums — the freestanding version at 2220 mm stands on its own.

How far does customization go — and can we validate before ordering?

From satin and screen-printed glass to soundproofing films and LCD-switchable panels; profiles in oxidized silver, matt black, glossy silver light or any RAL; sixteen melamine finishes for wood leaves and panels. Physical samples are available and their cost is fully credited at order confirmation — approve glass, profiles and finishes under your own lighting before production starts.

How to turn one open plan into many rooms — without losing the light

For facility managers and architects: five Mood decisions that make glass partitions actually work.

Draw the room map before the wall map

Count the rooms the teams actually need — meeting, focus, manager, HR — and trace where daylight enters. Glass partitions multiply rooms without subtracting light: modules of 25 to 100 cm and heights to 310 cm follow the plan, not the other way around.

Assign a version to every room

M1 for the everyday grid, MM or MN where structure should disappear, M2 double-glazed where words must stay in the room. Four versions, one language: mixing them keeps the floor coherent and the budget honest.

Give each flow its door

Swing doors up to all-glass 180° leaves, sliding doors on concealed rails where corridors are tight, double leaves for representative rooms — with push-bar antipanic hardware and electric strikes where egress and access control demand them.

Put the wiring inside the wall

Specify the 120 x 50 mm technical module at door frames and the cable-way tubes for single and double glazing: switches, sockets and access control live in the system, not taped to the glass.

Validate samples, then freeze the spec

Approve glass types — transparent, satin, acoustic, screen-printed, LCD — and profile finishes under your own light: physical samples are available and their cost is fully credited at order confirmation. Then lock versions, doors, acoustic classes and finishes in writing.
