A modular system is easy to admire and hard to write into a specification, because the first question is always where to start. Zinta answers it with three compositions the producer has already drawn and numbered: #60175 in the Lounge version, #60202 and #60210 as modular benches. They are not the limit of what can be composed — linear and corner arrangements of variable length remain available — but they give a specifier of waiting benches something a catalogue of parts does not: a starting point that can be quoted, drawn and compared. From there the decisions are few: which of the three versions, how long the run, which upholstery among fabrics, leathers and coated fabrics, and whether the optional armrest belongs at that point. Underneath, the wooden shell on its metal frame never changes. What ends up in the schedule is written line by line by La Mercanti.
