Ask any designer what holds a project together and they will say the fil rouge — the red thread. Fil Rouge by Las Mobili, designed by 967 Arch, makes it literal: a decorative red PVC profile runs along the two user sides of the bench frame, a signature line you can point to across the floor. The construction underneath earns the gesture: perimeter frame and crosspieces in painted extruded aluminum, round legs in Ø 40 mm tube, 3 mm thick, grey nylon leveling feet.

The palette breaks the benching-is-grey rule: eight top finishes including Moss Green, Sage, Stone Grey and White, five structure colors including Green — an operative floor that reads like a designed interior, not an IT department. Benches carry an equippable central bar with two cable gestures: sliding tops with 96 mm excursion, or a 90° flap top-access hinged on the bar, both with black dust brushes so cords pass with the tops closed. Four-seat benches add a 61 mm central side with removable infills and inspection holes.

The third level does the work

On the bar: object and paper holders, a revolving monitor arm — mechanical spring, no gas, up to 7 kg, cables routed inside — and a LED task lamp with occupancy sensor, touch dimming and a 10-year warranty declared by the manufacturer. On the desk edge: 38 mm sound-absorbing front screens (certification declared by the manufacturer) in Gabriel fabrics, with pen holder and metal blackboard that hook on top. And the pedestal on wheels arrives assembled, takes an exclusive-design zamak handle and an optional cushion that turns it into a guest seat. Product certificates can be downloaded on this page.

FAQ

Is the red thread a graphic or a real component?

Real. 967 Arch inserted a decorative red PVC profile along the two user sides of the bench frame — a continuous line that names the collection and brands the floor without a single logo. It sits on serious construction: extruded aluminum frame and crosspieces, round Ø 40 mm legs with 3 mm walls, grey nylon leveling feet. The line is the visible part of the drawing.

What does the aluminum-and-round-legs construction buy us?

A lighter floor, visually and physically. Extruded aluminum profiles form the frame; Ø 40 mm round tube replaces the squared posts of classic benching, so rows of workstations stop looking like server racks. And because the structure is painted in Moss Green, Green, Matt Black, White or Stone Grey, the metal becomes part of the interior design instead of defaulting to grey.

Sliding tops or flap top-access — which one for our team?

Sliding tops travel 96 mm on under-top runners and open the bay along the whole bench: right where IT reconfigures often. The 90° flap top-access hinges directly on the central bar with coextruded plastic hinges — a cleaner gesture for teams that mostly need power at the seat. Both seal with black dust brushes when closed; 1 mm steel trays on Ø 30 mm supports and climbing kits (ABS rings or magnetic risers) complete the route.

What actually mounts on the central bar?

The whole third level: object and paper holders on Ø 28 mm tubes, a turned-steel monitor/lamp support, a revolving monitor arm with mechanical spring — no gas, up to 7 kg, ±13 cm, cables inside the arm — and a LED lamp with occupancy sensor, touch dimming, CRI above 92 and a 10-year warranty declared by the manufacturer. Screens, light and paper leave the worktop; the desk stays clear.

Anything genuinely different about the storage?

Three things people notice: the visible 8 mm coupling edge that turns the joint into a signature; the exclusive-design zamak handle matched to fronts in Oak, Moss Green, Stone Grey, Black or White; and the cushion option — 30 mm foam on masonite, Gabriel fabrics — that converts the wheeled pedestal into the extra seat every huddle needs. Pedestals arrive assembled. Finish and fabric samples are available; the cost is fully credited when the order is confirmed.

How to make an open plan feel designed, not deployed

For office managers and A&D teams: five Fil Rouge decisions that humanize a workstation floor.

Pick a palette with intent

Moss Green, Sage and Stone Grey tops next to oak and poplar, five structure colors, and the red profile as the constant: two combinations per floor are enough to make the space read as designed. Let the red thread do the wayfinding a logo never could.

Treat acoustics as furniture

Mount the 38 mm sound-absorbing screens — certification declared by the manufacturer — under the front edge, dressed in Gabriel fabrics. Hook on the pen holder and metal blackboard: the divider becomes a personal wall that works.

Move the tools to the third level

Monitor arm (mechanical spring, 7 kg, cables inside), LED lamp with occupancy sensor, object and paper holders — all on the central bar. Clearing the worktop is the cheapest ergonomic upgrade on the list.

Choose the cable gesture per team

Sliding tops (96 mm) for IT-heavy rows; 90° flap top-access for meeting-heavy ones. Dust brushes seal both when closed; trays and climbing kits take the cables to the floor without a visible cord.

Approve samples on site, then freeze the spec

Painted aluminum, melamine and fabric all shift under office lighting: approve physical samples in your space — the cost is fully credited at order confirmation. Then freeze tops, structure color, compositions, top-access type and fabrics in writing.
