Bespoke: size, colour, finish

Most benching systems stop at the manager's door. 5th Element by Las Mobili, designed by Studio Si, walks through it: the same trapezoidal drawn-steel leg — 58 x 50 mm, 2 mm wall — that carries the operative bench also carries the executive desk with chromed loop legs and a 10 mm rear-lacquered tempered glass top on turned stainless supports. The fifth element of the name is the structural DNA that binds workstation, bench, team table and meeting table into one language — with beams whose coupling screws vanish under moulded ABS carters.

For the open floor: single or shared desks (bench) on bridge or inclined gantry legs, tops in eight finishes — White to Black — every panel Class E1 low formaldehyde as declared by the manufacturer. For the huddle: team tables H 105 — standing height, with a chromed footrest beam — and a gantry team table with two amortized aluminium top accesses. For decisions: meeting tables on bridge or gantry legs with integrated top access. One order form covers the whole org chart.

A spine with a magnet

Bench tops mount a central extruded aluminium bar whose hinged tip-up top accesses carry a cable brush and a magnet that locks onto the frontal sound-absorbing panels: open anywhere, reach the whole substructure, click shut. Shared 50 x 50 mm legs take optional WIRE MANAGER panelling; trays hang from the beams; PC-tower service units double as structural desk supports. Pedestals roll on braked wheels, arrive assembled, and take a Gabriel-fabric guest cushion. Product certificates can be downloaded on this page.

FAQ

What does the name 5th Element actually refer to?

The four tables every office runs on — workstation, bench, team, meeting — plus the fifth thing that binds them: a shared structure. One trapezoidal drawn-steel leg (58 x 50 mm, 2 mm wall), one 50 x 15 mm beam system, ABS carters over every coupling screw, one four-color metal palette. Specify the whole floor from one chapter and it reads as one project, not a procurement history.

How does it scale from the open floor to the executive office?

Without changing language. Operative desks and benches run on painted bridge or gantry legs; the executive version keeps the same trapezoidal geometry but offers CHROMED bridge or loop legs and a 10 mm rear-lacquered tempered glass top — Black, Grey Beige or White — on turned stainless supports. Promotions change finishes, not furniture families; facilities keeps one spare-parts logic.

Bridge or gantry legs — how do we decide?

By the room's character, because the function is identical. The trapezoidal bridge leg plants the bench with a technical, grounded stance; the inclined gantry gives the same top a drawn, trestle-light profile that suits creative floors. Both take the same beams, trays and accessories — and both hide their screws under molded ABS carters, so neither ever shows its assembly.

What's clever about the bench's central bar?

It solves cables and acoustics with one gesture. The extruded aluminum bar hinges tip-up top accesses fitted with a cable brush and a magnet that locks the flap against the frontal sound-absorbing panels — open anywhere along the run, reach the entire substructure, click closed. Add optional WIRE MANAGER panelling on the 50 x 50 mm shared legs and trays on the beams, and the spine carries power, order and quiet together.

Does the E1 panel claim matter, and what else should we know about storage?

When forty desks share one HVAC loop, panel emissions stop being a footnote: every panel here is declared Class E1 low formaldehyde by the manufacturer. Storage pulls double duty — service units and PC towers work freestanding or as structural desk supports, and the wheeled pedestal (assembled, braked, color-matched pivoting handle) takes a Gabriel-fabric cushion that makes it the guest seat. Finish and fabric samples are available; the cost is fully credited at order confirmation.

How to spec one desk family for the whole org chart

For office managers and facilities: five 5th Element decisions that keep the floor coherent from intern to CEO.

Inventory all four tables first

Singles, bench runs, standing team tables H 105, meeting tables — map them before choosing anything. 5th Element serves all four plus the executive desk from one structural chapter, which turns five procurements into one.

Assign legs by room character

Trapezoidal bridge legs on the operative floor, inclined gantries where you want lightness, chromed loop legs with the glass top behind the corner-office door. Same beams and carters everywhere; palette held to Silver, Matt Black, White, Stone Grey.

Put the spine to work

Central aluminum bar with tip-up top accesses — brush and magnet lock on the acoustic panels — over every bench run; WIRE MANAGER panelling on shared legs at the power risers; trays on the beams; service units doubling as desk supports at PC-heavy seats.

Design the huddles into the plan

An H 105 team table with chromed footrest makes a standing meeting point that needs no booking system; a cushioned pedestal makes any desk a two-chair conversation. Both arrive on the same order as the desks.

Approve samples on site, then freeze the spec

Melamine, painted steel, chrome and lacquered glass shift under real lighting: approve physical samples in your space — the cost is fully credited when the order is confirmed. Then freeze tops, leg types per area, structure color, top-access positions and fabrics in writing.
