Bench desking is usually sold in one depth. E-Place by DVO Office comes in three: 53.7, 62.2 and 65.6 inches from edge to edge across two facing tops. The two outer figures are the plain benches, closer or wider apart depending on how much the team shares its screens. The middle one, 62.2 inches, is the bench built around a central rail in anodized aluminum with two flip doors: power and data run the length of the row inside it, and each seat reaches in through its own door.

Gianantonio Perin and Giorgio Topan designed the whole family on a single trestle leg in epoxy-coated steel: a rectangular 2.4 × 1.6 in crossbar and two uprights pressed from sheet steel. On it sit office workstations from 31.5 to 78.7 in wide, 29.1 in high, with a 1 in melamine top and ABS edge; in-line desks that join into rows; a return, alone or on a supporting pedestal; a low service unit the desk can hang from; a 90° curved link; and meeting tables, rectangular, square or round, with radiused corners. Legs come in white, aluminum or anthracite, or in brick red, sage green and powder blue.

La Mercanti draws the E-Place row twice, once at 53.7 inches and once at 62.2, so the client sees what the cable channel costs in floor space before deciding where the cables live; the freight forwarder is booked for the U.S. address as soon as the order is confirmed, and the drawing that wins travels with the shipment.

FAQ

Can an E-Place layout be changed after the installers have left?
That is the claim DVO makes for the collection: the trestle structure lets the office be reconfigured after installation. Desks are not anchored to walls or floor boxes; a row can be shortened, an in-line desk added or a bench turned into two single desks by unbolting the beams and moving the trestles.
Which meeting tables belong to E-Place?
Rectangular tables 94.5 and 118.1 in long by 47.2 in deep with 1.8 in radiused corners, on two columns with a 21.7 in square base or on the same trestle legs as the desks; a 55.1 in square; round tables of 39.4 and 47.2 in on column or trestles; and a small round of 23.6 in or a 39.4 in square in MDF on a single freestanding leg. All 29.1 in high.
How is the computer tower held on E-Place?
With a CPU holder that uses straps rather than a rigid cage, hung under the top: DVO lists versions for the 25.6 and 31.5 in deep desks and for the bench. The straps adjust to the size of the unit, so a change of hardware does not mean a new bracket.
Where do the cables come through the E-Place top?
Through optional cable ports that can be rectangular or round, cut into the melamine at order stage. Below the top a single or double tray collects the cables, and a vertical duct of 3.9 × 2.4 in, painted in the leg color, brings them down one trestle to the floor.
Does DVO publish the shipping weight of E-Place?
Yes, the price list states weight and number of packages for every code: a 63 × 31.5 in desk, for example, ships in four packages. La Mercanti uses those figures to plan the freight and the elevator on the U.S. site before the order is confirmed.

How to see E-Place in person before the order

Three bench formats and nine desk sizes are hard to judge from a drawing: here is how to put E-Place by DVO Office in front of you, in a showroom or in 3D, before the purchase order is signed.

Ask La Mercanti where E-Place is on show
La Mercanti checks which DVO showrooms and partner spaces currently display E-Place and, for a U.S. project, whether a visit in Italy can be combined with other brands on the list.
Bring the head count
Take the number of seats per row: on site you can stand between the narrow and the wide E-Place benches and feel which distance the team will accept.
Lift the flip doors
Open the two flip doors of the E-Place cable channel and check that the connectors your IT department uses fit inside.
Look at the legs and tops together
Place the white, aluminum and anthracite legs next to the seven melamine tops; the umber and walnut finishes read very differently against each metal.
Get the 3D version too
If the trip is not on the calendar, La Mercanti sends the E-Place layout rendered from pCon.planner so the same comparison can happen on your screen.
