Buy a desk and you have furnished one wall. Iulio by Las Mobili, designed by Studio Si, is written for the other way of working: one system that carries the modern office desks, the meeting tables, the storage and the details that tie a leadership floor together — so the corner office, the huddle table and the credenza wall read as one decision, not three purchases. The manufacturer frames the collection as aluminum and wood in dialogue, reaching the right stylistic balance, and the phrase is literal: extruded aluminum legs in Inox Grey with a vertical wood-effect insert, a 3 mm steel core inside, and a cable riser that opens with a removable cover.
Tops are 25 mm MDF with shaped, rounded edges, faced in 3d-foil and outlined by a 6 mm T-molding in Inox Grey — recessed into a milled groove, so the line that draws the desk also defends its perimeter. The frame is a 50 x 25 mm epoxy-coated tube; an optional modesty panel closes the front where the desk faces the room.
From desk to floor plan
Rectangular meeting tables integrate a flip-top access matched to the surface, with a 1 mm sheet-metal cable tray below — laptops connect without a cable running over the edge. The circular table stands on a tapered column, Ø 590 mm at the base, freeing the perimeter for chairs. Pedestals roll on swivel casters, arrive assembled, close every drawer with one central lock; service units slide their doors on soft-close hardware; monolithic wall units open at a push with no handles and take a reversible bookshelf with an 8 mm tempered-glass shelf; low, medium and high cabinets lock with an extractable, recodable cylinder. Three woods — Grey Elm, Bali Walnut, Wengè — plus Black and White hold the entire program on one palette. Product certificates can be downloaded on this page.

That is what a three-woods-plus-two-solids palette is for. Keep the architecture constant — same legs, same T-molding, same geometry — and rotate the register: Bali Walnut for the corner office, Grey Elm two doors down, Black for the founder who wants the graphic room. The floor reads as one standard, each office keeps a temperature of its own. It is the opposite of buying six different desks and hoping the sightlines forgive you.
It saves the call to facilities. The vertical compartment in the leg closes with a removable cover: at move-in, power and data rise inside the aluminum; at every refresh after — new dock, second monitor, another line — the cover comes off and goes back in minutes, no desk moved, no raceway glued to a leg. The riser is structural, not clipped on: the leg carries a 3 mm steel core, shaped and drilled to anchor the frames. Fewer tickets, cleaner floor.
Call it on the conversation. The circular table's tapered column — Ø 590 mm base narrowing toward the top — clears the perimeter and seats people at equal distance: no head of table, which is exactly the point of pulling a client or a report away from the desk. The rectangular framed table belongs where meetings are worked, not hosted: flip-top access in the surface finish, sheet-metal tray underneath, laptops connected without a cable over the edge. Same finishes both ways, so office and meeting room stay one family.
The pedestal closes every drawer with one central lock. Low, medium and high cabinets take a lock with an extractable cylinder — the cylinder can be swapped or recoded without replacing the unit, which is what key management across a floor actually requires — plus a double folding key. Monolithic wall units open push-to-open and carry no lock by design: they are the clean wall, not the confidential archive. Map the two zones before ordering and the security question answers itself.
Per the manufacturer, components ship disassembled in triple cardboard with corner protection — except the pedestals, which arrive assembled, protected with pressed-cardboard corners and shrink film, ready to roll into place. For a US project that means the pedestal is usable on day one while the system is installed, and the packaging is engineered for the long ride rather than the short one. Installation planning starts from that split: assembled pedestals, flat-packed everything else.
For designers, workplace teams and facilities: five calls in order — register, palette, cabling, the meeting setting, storage and keys — from catalog to a coherent executive floor.
Fix the constants first — Iulio legs, T-molding, geometry — then assign temperatures room by room: Bali Walnut or Wengè where authority should feel warm, Grey Elm for the quiet middle, Black or White where the office should read graphic. One system, six rooms, no copy-paste. Add the modesty panel wherever a desk faces the door.
Three woods and two solids run across tops, leg inserts and storage. Anchor the choice to what the floor already owns — carpet, mullions, millwork — and hold it: the Inox Grey T-molding and die-cast handles already match the legs, so the metal story is factory-coordinated. Consistency here is what makes the floor photograph like a decision.
Open the floor plan, mark where power and data surface, and orient each desk so one leg lands on the point: the inspectable riser carries the cables inside the aluminum, and the removable cover keeps every future refresh a five-minute job. Between two layouts, pick the one that shortens the visible cable run to zero.
Circular column table in the office for equal-distance conversations — Ø 590 mm base, perimeter free for chairs. Rectangular framed table in the meeting room for worked sessions — flip-top access, cable tray, laptops connected cleanly. Keep finishes consistent where sightlines connect the rooms; switch registers where they don't.
Zone one, secured: pedestals with central locking, cabinets with recodable extractable cylinders. Zone two, visual: push-open monoliths and the reversible bookshelf for the wall that should disappear. Then the line that saves the punch list: cabinet compositions are completed with finishing tops and end sides, supplied separately — put them on the order now, not at installation.
