The most useful piece in the Inca collection is not the desk. It is the service cabinet, 110 by 60 cm, whose top rises electrically from 75,5 to 125 cm. At the low setting it matches the desk and works as an extension; at full height it becomes a standing surface for a laptop, a short review with two colleagues, or the ten-minute call nobody wants to sit down for.

The rest of the contemporary collection is deliberately calm: a lacquered wooden foot repeated from desk to tables to storage, tops from 200 to 260 cm on 110 deep in veneer, saddle leather, leather or melamine, and a socket box that rotates out of sight instead of cutting the surface. Designed by Valerio Sommella in 2022. La Mercanti runs US executive projects end to end, from samples to the installed room.

Is the service cabinet a sit-stand desk?
No, and it is better described as what it is: a 110 by 60 cm storage unit whose top rises electrically from 75,5 to 125 cm. It complements the fixed desk rather than replacing it, which suits executive rooms where the desk itself is meant to stay a stable, formal object.
What is it actually used for?
At desk height it extends the working surface; raised, it becomes a standing station for a laptop, a quick two-person review or a call taken on the move. Many rooms end up using it more often than the meeting table.
Does the height range cover normal standing work?
125 cm at the top of its travel is within the usual standing range for most adults, and 75,5 matches the desk exactly. Individual ergonomic requirements should always be checked against the user, as with any adjustable surface.
Does it still work as storage?
Yes: it carries doors and drawers measuring 65,5 by 41 cm, with the same charcoal grey aluminium handles as the rest of the collection, so it reads as part of the room and not as equipment.
How is it powered?

Keep the desk fixed
In an executive room the desk is a formal object. Adding movement to it changes the character; adding it to a cabinet does not.
Place the service cabinet on the working side
110 by 60 cm, within a step of the chair, so the change of posture takes seconds.
Check the power point first
The adjustable top needs a supply. Coordinate it with the floor boxes before the layout is frozen.
Match the finishes
Same veneers, leathers and charcoal grey handles as the rest of Inca, so the cabinet is furniture rather than equipment.
Test the two heights on the plan
75,5 cm aligned with the desk and 125 cm for standing. Both positions need clearance around them, drawn in advance.
