Lift the cover on the Toa desk and the tray underneath is red. Not gray, not black: Pedrali powder-coats the steel cable channel of the 240 × 90 desk in RO400, 67 inches long, and runs it under the 94.5 × 35.4 in top from a slot cut 15 in from the edge, on the right for the CDX code or on the left for the CSX. The cover that closes the slot is cut from the same laminate as the top, so with the lid down the desk reads as one surface; with it up, the one color in the room is the tray you are reaching into. A small choice, made for a plain reason: the cable side is chosen once, from where the monitor stands, and after that nobody has to look for it.

The desk borrows its legs from the conference table. Robin Rizzini drew a bridge in cast aluminum that is narrow where it meets the floor and opening upward into a T beneath the top, and Pedrali puts that leg under everything else in the range: the seven meeting tables, the smallest 74.8 × 29.5 in and the largest 141.7 × 49.2 in; the 204 and 240 in boardroom tops in two pieces; the workstation with two or four stations and sound-absorbing dividers between them; the outdoor version with exterior laminates; and, standing on any of them, the folding Toa screen. For U.S. offices La Mercanti ships the desk disassembled in one 16.1 cu ft crate and confirms the cable side on the order before the top is cut.

FAQ

What sizes does the plain Toa table come in?
Seven: 74.8 × 29.5, 74.8 × 35.4, 94.5 × 35.4, 118.1 × 39.4, 118.1 × 49.2, 141.7 × 39.4 and 141.7 × 49.2 in, all 28.7 in high with the 0.39 in top. The two longest come in two depths; the 94.5 × 35.4 is the only one also offered with a wood veneer top.
How long are the conference versions?
204.3 and 240.2 in, 49.2 and 51.2 in deep, both with a two-piece top on one frame. The 204 weighs 308.6 lb with the 0.39 in top and the 240 weighs 401.2 lb; with the 0.47 in top add 44 to 55 lb. Both take the CC60, CCO or SPEC cable option.
How tall are the dividers on the workstation?
Two heights: the DSP_L130 panel is 17.9 in high, the DSP/2_L130 is 24.2 in, both 51.2 in wide, with a padded steel frame under the fabric. The lower one keeps eye contact across the Toa workstation; the taller one hides the screen of the person opposite.
What are the feet made of?
Polypropylene on the Toa table and conference, black technopolymer on the desk and workstation. Pedrali does not publish a felt or carpet variant for Toa, so a floor that scratches easily is protected under the leg, not by swapping the foot.
Which company certifications does Pedrali hold?
ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 45001 for health and safety, and an ISO 14064-1 verification statement for the corporate carbon footprint, all printed in the header of every Toa spec sheet. They certify the company, not the table.

How to assemble the Toa desk when the crate arrives

The Toa desk ships disassembled in one 16.1 cu ft crate; five steps take it from the pallet to a level top with its cover flush.

Open the crate at the room, not the dock
Toa arrives in a single crate of 16.1 cu ft, 119 to 134.5 lb; move it closed to the room, then unpack, so the laminate top never crosses a hallway unprotected.
Lay the top face down on the packing
The Toa top is 0.39 or 0.47 in of solid laminate; the cardboard from the crate is the padding it needs while the legs go on.
Bolt the two bridge legs and the beams
Each Toa leg ends in a T that meets the top; the extruded aluminum beams tie the two Ts together under the surface. Fit both legs loosely, then the beams, then tighten.
Close the cut-out with its cover
The cover of the Toa desk is cut from the same laminate as the top; drop it into the opening while the desk is still upside down, so the edge sits flush before anyone leans on it.
Turn it over and check the level
Two people lift the Toa desk onto its technopolymer feet. Check the top with a level and confirm the cable side matches the order La Mercanti placed; a wrong side means a new top, not a new tray.
