The silhouette belongs to American modernism; the hands that build it work in Foligno, Umbria, where Knoll runs its premium production. For an American buyer this is the quiet luxury of the Saarinen table: a design tested in Michigan, executed with Italian stonework and joinery, from the nine declared marbles to the veneers and the Rilsan-coated stem. Round conference tops run from 35.75 to 60 inches, ovals up to 96 x 54 inches — eight seats at 28.25 inches of height, with nothing under the top but one stem. La Mercanti ships the table from Italy to American boardrooms and residences with white-glove coordination; the same pedestal family covers the dining room, hospitality lounges at coffee and side heights and, in selected finishes and sizes, the patio.
