In most boardrooms the screen belongs to whoever sits nearest the cable. In Master it belongs to everyone: every box includes an HDMI port, along with a 3.5 audio jack and two RJ45. Whoever is presenting stays where they are, plugs in at their own place and starts. Nobody swaps seats, nobody trails a cable down the length of the table.

Those boxes open and close flush into a top of 514 by 177 cm at 73 cm high, available in saddle leather with a wood centre and edges or in wood with a saddle leather centre and edges. Below sits a base with doors, supplied prepared for cable routing; standard veneer is grey stained veined black walnut. Umberto Asnago drew it in 2019. La Mercanti handles US boardroom projects end to end, from samples to the installed room.

FAQ

Why put HDMI at every position rather than one?
Because presentations move. When only one seat can reach the display, the person presenting either changes chairs or a cable is run across the surface, and both interrupt the meeting. Eight identical connection points mean whoever is speaking connects from where they already sit.
Is the audio jack useful in a modern room?
It is there for rooms whose sound system takes a wired input, which is still common where reliability outranks convenience. Alongside it each box carries two RJ45 for the same reason on the data side.
Do the ports work with laptops that only have USB-C?
Each box also provides two USB ports of type A and C. Which peripherals a given machine reaches through them is a matter for the IT department, but the physical connection is available at every seat.
How is the cabling brought to the boxes?
It runs from the floor into the base, which arrives prepared for cable routing, and up into the top. The base is a closed volume with doors precisely so that the technical part is not visible.
Can the boxes be left open permanently?
They are designed to open when needed and close flush with the surface. On a top where the centre band is a designed element, keeping it clear is part of how the table is meant to look.

How to make a boardroom screen usable from every seat

Five steps for rooms where the presenter should not have to move.

Map connection points to seats
Eight boxes with HDMI means eight positions that can drive the display.
Decide wired or wireless
Rooms that value reliability keep a cable path; the ports are there either way.
Bring the run through the base
The base is prepared for cable routing, so the floor outlet belongs underneath it.
Keep the surface clear
Boxes close flush; nothing should be parked permanently on the top.
Test before the first meeting
Open all eight boxes and check each port with the room's own equipment.
