Codutti says it plainly on the collection page: the Ginza Table works «as a dining table» and «as a large workstation», for «workspaces and homes». A 94 1/2 by 35 3/8 inch top on two structural panels, 29 1/8 inches high, with rounded corners and a surface of Roman travertine or solid wood, is a boardroom table by day and, inside a private residence or an executive suite, a table for eight to sit at with a glass of wine. Nothing on the top says office: no ports, no boxes, no sockets. Which is exactly why the second life is possible.

Barbieri Magalini designed Ginza as «a tribute to Japanese rationalism», and the other pieces follow the same idea: a round table 47 1/4 inches across and 27 1/2 inches high for the informal corner, two coffee tables at 15 3/4 inches, and the Ginza Tower, a 57 1/8 inch chest with seven push-pull drawers that stands in a study as naturally as in a boardroom. For clients furnishing a home office or a hospitality suite in the United States, La Mercanti shows the same Codutti piece in both settings on the proposal, so the client decides on a room and not on a second product.

FAQ

Does the conference table come in other sizes?
Codutti describes the Ginza Table as a modular table «available in several sizes». The 2025 price list shows the 94 1/2 by 35 3/8 inch conference table and the 47 1/4 inch round; any other format is confirmed with the manufacturer for the specific project, and La Mercanti does not quote one until it is.
How does a Ginza table reach an office in the United States?
In separate crates — the top, the two structural panels and, if ordered, the Tower and coffee tables — shipped from Udine and installed in the room by La Mercanti's crew. The delivery date is fixed at order confirmation, once the finish samples are approved.
What does Codutti mean by «Upper Level»?
It is the manufacturer's own heading: on codutti.it the Ginza page sits under «Collezioni Upper Level», and Codutti describes the collection as the Upper Level of its office furniture. The wording is Codutti's, not a grade assigned by La Mercanti.
What is Roman travertine?
A natural stone quarried for centuries around Rome, with visible veining and small open pores. It is the only stone named in the 2025 Ginza price list — the collection page speaks more broadly of natural stones — and La Mercanti has a sample approved before any order.
Does Codutti give a warranty on Ginza?
Yes: the cover of the 2025 Ginza price list states that the products are warranted for 5 years. La Mercanti includes the manufacturer's conditions with every quotation for the United States.

How to write a Ginza order panel by panel

A Ginza table is not ordered as one item but as a set of structural panels, each with its own material and finish. Writing the order this way avoids the most common surprise at delivery.

Start from the family
Choose the price-list family first: Roman travertine and lacquer, or solid wood and lacquer. Every Ginza piece — table, round table, coffee tables, Tower — belongs to one of the two and cannot mix the two pages.
Name each panel of the base
The Ginza base is two structural panels. Write which one is stone or wood and which one is lacquered, and on which side of the table each stands: the photographs show them off-center, and the orientation decides where the head of the table sits.
Set the finish for every element
Glossy or matte is decided element by element, not for the whole table. List the top, each base panel and, if ordered, the Tower fronts with their finish, so that harmony or contrast is a choice and not an accident.
Repeat the exercise for the smaller pieces
The Ginza Coffee Table and the Ginza Tower use the same panel logic. A Tower with a travertine top and lacquered drawer fronts, as in Codutti's images, is written as two lines, not one.
Have La Mercanti read the order back
La Mercanti returns the panel-by-panel list with the finish samples you approved, before it goes to Codutti. What is confirmed on that sheet is what crosses the ocean.
