Your front desk is the first employee every visitor meets — and it never gets a day off. Nice by Las Mobili — the house of the Jera executive desk — designed by Studio Si, is built for that job description: brand presence on the guest side, a hard-working console on the operator side. Facing the lobby: horizontal decorative bands in 3d-foil wood, rear-lacquered tempered glass or white polycarbonate with LED backlighting, all framed in satin-chrome extruded aluminium — a front you can compose like a facade. Facing the team: 25 mm worktops, cable trays and locking storage.
The architecture is modular by design: 50 mm supporting side panels with satin-chrome edges, 25 mm 3d-foil worktops perforated for cable crossing where they meet the vertical panel, carried by a 50 x 15 mm Silver epoxy steel beam or by the storage units themselves. The manufacturer describes Nice as a system for compositions of great complexity and strong visual impact — a compact two-position desk today, the full front line of a headquarters lobby tomorrow. The central speak-through modules at 73.6 cm drop one section to desk height: ADA-style seated interaction, signatures and eye contact, without opening the whole counter.
Backstage, built like a workstation
The transaction shelf toward the visitor is either 25 mm wood with a satin-chrome aluminium under-profile or 12 mm tempered glass with polished edges on turned stainless-steel supports — Satin White, rear-lacquered Black or Extra White. Underneath, bent-metal cable trays (0.7 mm, matt Black, White or Stone Grey) mount under the top on the front panel and swallow electrification kits, power strips and every spare foot of cable. Storage locks — hinged door or extractable drawer with sheet-metal structure and top basket — and always closes with a wood or tempered-glass finishing top. Yes — that is the point of the kit. Nice composes from 50 mm side panels, 25 mm worktops on a 50 x 15 mm steel beam, and storage units that double as supports; the manufacturer describes it as a system for compositions of great complexity and strong visual impact. Start with a two-position desk, extend the same language across a full front line later — finishes, profiles and heights stay consistent.
Three registers, one frame. Wood bands in 3d-foil — Grey Elm to Bali Walnut — for warmth; rear-lacquered tempered glass in Black or Extra White for formality; white polycarbonate with LED backlighting when the desk should read as a beacon, especially in lobbies that work into the evening. Every band type is framed in the same satin-chrome extruded aluminum, so you can mix registers without breaking the facade.
Below the sightline. Worktop edges meeting the vertical panel are perforated for cable crossing, and 0.7 mm bent-metal cable trays — matt Black, White or Stone Grey — mount under the top on the front panel, housing electrification kits and every spare foot of cable. Phones, badge printers and monitors live on the operator side; the lobby sees only the composed front.
Because a welcome sometimes happens seated. The central speak-through module, declared by the manufacturer at 73.6 cm — about 29 inches, standard desk height — is where documents get signed, where a seated visitor talks at eye level, and where the counter opens without exposing the rest of the console. You keep the privacy of the high sections and the accessibility of a desk in one composition.
Locking storage in two formats — hinged door with adjustable shelf, or extractable drawer with sheet-metal structure and a top basket for office material — always closed by a wood or tempered-glass finishing top, plus the cable trays under the worktop. Peak visitors, number of operators, metres of lobby frontage: Nice composes from side panels, worktops and supporting storage into desks of very different lengths. Lock the composition logic before any finish talk — the desk should be able to grow with the company.
Pick the band mix: 3d-foil wood for warmth, rear-lacquered glass for formality, LED-backlit polycarbonate for presence after dark. One satin-chrome frame unifies them — decide standing at the entrance, where visitors will.
Spec perforated worktops, cable trays with electrification kits, and locking storage — door or drawer — with its finishing top. The front is brand; the back is operations. Both ship in the same kit.
Place the 73.6 cm speak-through module where signatures and seated conversations happen. It keeps the desk welcoming at eye level without opening the whole counter to view.
