Let's discuss your project

Bespoke: size, colour, finish

Walk into most lobbies and the accessible section of the front desk looks like an afterthought — a lower slab bolted to the end. Z2 writes it into the system: the lowered module shares the panels, the edges and the finishes of the linear modules, with an intermediate side panel that keeps the run visually continuous. A visitor in a wheelchair and a visitor standing check in at the same desk, not at two different pieces of furniture.

The rest of the counter holds up its end. Worktops are 30 mm scratch-resistant, washable melamine; edges are 2 mm impact-resistant ABS; the whole system passed the EN 1730 static-load, impact and stability tests declared in the technical sheet. Compositions run from 126 to 492 cm, straight or cornered, with an optional welcome shelf in melamine, matt lacquer or stitched regenerated leather.

Quadrifoglio points Z2 — the Z1's sibling with the accessible module built in — at offices, hotels, schools and retail alike. La Mercanti ships and installs it across the United States with white-glove partners, and will tell you plainly which composition fits your lobby before you commit a dollar of budget.

FAQ

Which catalogue sizes does the Z2 system come in?
Eight configurations are declared, from a 126 cm single-module desk to a 492 cm run, all 113 cm high, built from modules 100 to 160 cm wide. Corner and U-shaped layouts come from the same kit of parts.
Does the task lamp glare on glass or polished stone lobbies?
The declared worktop lamp carries an anti-glare opal polycarbonate cover over its LEDs, so the light lands on the work surface rather than bouncing into visitors' eyes. It switches on with a soft touch of the finger.
What colors does the leather-faced shelf come in?
Quadrifoglio declares regenerated leather in a small, deliberate range — including brown, black and red — wrapped as a single piece around the shelf with a decorative perimeter stitch.
What happens to the counter at end of life?
The manufacturer declares the main fractions — wood, plastic and metal — fully recyclable post-consumer, with mixed parts recoverable through specialised processors. Panels start life as 100 % recycled wood, so the loop closes on both ends.
Can staff pass through the counter without lifting a flap?
Yes — among the declared accessories there is a swing door, so the back-of-counter area can be closed off and still crossed hands-free, which matters when someone is carrying parcels or a tray.

How to choose finishes for a Z2 front desk

Melamine, matt lacquer, regenerated leather, a full RAL palette: five steps to land on a combination that survives both the brand book and the cleaning crew.

Start from what gets touched
The worktop takes keys, badges and coffee cups: keep it in scratch-resistant melamine. Save lacquer and leather for the vertical fronts and the shelf, where hands rarely land.
Match the brand, not the trend
Beyond the 25 catalogue lacquers, the full RAL scale is declared available. Pull the exact color code from your brand guidelines instead of settling for the nearest stock tone.
Use the two-tone rule once
One contrast reads as intent; three read as noise. Pick a single pairing — wood-effect front with a lacquered shelf, or lacquer with leather — and repeat it across every module.
Check finishes under your own light
Lobby lighting changes everything. Look at physical samples under the actual fixtures, with the LED perimeter strip on, before signing off the combination.
Order all modules together
Finish batches match best within one production run. If an extension is likely, plan it now or accept a deliberate contrast later rather than chasing an identical batch.
