American offices run on the sidebar: the two-minute huddle at the boss’s desk that settles what the meeting will later ratify. Oxford gives that ritual furniture of its own — a round peninsula, 120 cm across, attached right or left to the desk, which DVO calls a conversation island. No shuffling chairs to the conference room: the visitor sits at the circle, the desk keeps its papers, and the geometry keeps the distance collegial rather than confrontational.

The rest of the system, designed by Antonio Morello, follows the same practical logic: modern executive desks at 200 or 220 cm with X- or L-shaped legs, a sliding-top version, an electric sit-stand desk reaching 142 cm, service units that swallow the wiring and a 190 cm multifunctional unit with mirror and filing drawer. La Mercanti configures Oxford for US floors — with the sidebar table exactly on the side you shake hands from.

FAQ

How is the peninsula different from a meeting table?
It is attached to the desk itself: a 120 cm circle, specified right- or left-handed, that DVO describes as a conversation island. It hosts the quick two-person exchange without booking a room or leaving your screen.
Does the sit-stand version look executive enough?
It keeps the Oxford geometry — the columns hide inside melamine-clad housings — while three-stage legs run from 77 to 142 cm with an optional memory pad. The 30 W control unit accepts 110 to 240 volts.
What does the sliding top actually do?
The worktop glides parallel to a fixed top on a dedicated sliding system with a brush strip — opening access below without clearing what sits on the surface.
Which finishes are available on the tops?
White, Maroncelli walnut and light oak melamine, plus a leather-effect melamine — arena, coffee, jasmine or black — on the operator side and fronts, with matching ABS edges.
What does DVO state about warranty?
Eight years on the furniture, two on electrical components — stated on the manufacturer’s page, not by us.

How to furnish the two-minute meeting

Five moves for decisions made at the desk.

Pick the handshake side
The peninsula mounts right or left of the chair.
Keep the circle clear
A 120 cm top holds two coffees and one dossier.
Wire the desk, not the guest
Grommets and channels keep cables on the work side.
Stand when it runs long
The adjustable version rises to 142 cm with memories.
Escalate to 240 cm
The meeting table waits in the same finish, if the sidebar grows.
