Ferruccio Laviani, the Italian eye Bloomingdale's put on display

Ferruccio Laviani, Italian designer of the i4Mariani Euclideo executive desk

In 2024, New York shoppers met him at Bloomingdale's: the exhibition «Italian Design, from Classic to Contemporary» carried his signature. Ferruccio Laviani — Cremona, 1960; trained under Achille Castiglioni and Marco Zanuso; partner at Studio De Lucchi by 1986 — has run his own Milan practice since 1991 while serving as art director of Kartell, with clients from Cassina to Samsung and a cabinet acquired by the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.

His executive work lives at i4Mariani: the Euclideo desk, faceted volumes interpenetrating, and Cartesiano, crossed planes with resolute lines. U.S. projects reach both through La Mercanti — the Bloomingdale's eye, at desk height.
