Barber & Osgerby: collected by the Met and the Art Institute of Chicago

Puzzle tiles by Barber and Osgerby in a US corporate lobby

American curators caught on early: the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago both hold work by Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby — the East London duo, partners since 1996, who trained as architects at the Royal College of Art and went on to design the 2012 Olympic Torch, Vitra's Soft Work system and the Tip Ton chair. Britain gave them OBEs in 2013; their attitude — experimentation with material and colour — runs through everything.

For US projects, their hand arrives in ceramic: four Mutina collections — Puzzle, Lane, Primavera, Time — which La Mercanti ships from Italy, logistics included.
