The same executive chair rarely belongs in the corner office and in the manager's room down the hall. Synua answers that by existing in two families that share everything except height: Presidenziale, with the high backrest, and Direzionale, with the medium one, prepared at the seat for armrest fixing.
The choice is about the room, not the person. A high back frames whoever sits in it and holds a large executive suite together; a medium back keeps sightlines open in a glass-walled office — or around the meeting table — and stops a small room from feeling crowded. Because the two versions share the continuous shell, the integrated synchronised mechanism and all eleven aluminium finishes, a floor can use both without anyone noticing a change of manufacturer — only a change of scale.
Both are made by Milani in northern Italy to a 2025 specification that lists every component by code. La Mercanti handles specification, fabric selection and delivery coordination for clients across the United States.

It is a single upholstered monocoque: seat and backrest are continuous, with no bracket where they meet. Inside there is a Ø 10 mm steel wire insert in the backrest and a reinforced plastic insert in the seat, both under cold-foam polyurethane at 65 kg/m³. That construction is why the backrest can be genuinely flexible without the frame taking a set after a few years.
Eleven for base and armrests, each with a published reference: RAL codes for most, an NCS code for the dark green and proprietary codes for bronze and copper. Being able to quote a code matters in corporate work, where the chair has to agree with millwork specified months earlier by someone else. The aluminium is either polished or epoxy powder-coated.
No, and that is a design decision rather than an omission. Synua is built around a continuous shell whose line runs uninterrupted from the seat to the top of the back; a bolted headrest would break exactly the profile the chair is designed around. If a headrest is a firm requirement for a particular room, La Mercanti will propose an alternative model rather than adapt this one.
Gross weight is 22.5 kg in a 0.33 m³ carton for the high-back version and 22.3 kg in 0.30 m³ for the medium-back. On a multi-floor installation those two numbers decide how many chairs fit in one elevator trip and how much space the empty cartons will occupy before removal — worth agreeing with the building manager in advance.
The shell is fully upholstered and Milani's catalogue includes several fabric families; the official photographs show references such as KST 0253, GCP 3601 and GCP 3202 against bronze, copper and black bases. Where a client has a corporate textile standard, La Mercanti puts the question to the manufacturer before the order and confirms feasibility in writing rather than by assumption.

Behind a glazed partition a high backrest blocks the sightline and makes the room read smaller from the corridor. The medium back keeps the space open.
If the heights differ, the metal should not. A single finish across the floor is what makes two sizes look like one decision instead of two purchases.
