The largest table in the Mithos catalogue measures 720 by 330 centimetres. That is a boardroom table for a company that gathers its whole leadership in one room, and it is listed as a custom piece — built to the room rather than selected from a size chart.
Scale of that kind is a manufacturing question before it is a design one. A surface seven metres long has to stay flat, take a leather inlay without the seam drifting, and arrive through a door. Codutti has been building designer office furniture since 1954 and describes itself as craftsman and industrial manufacturer at once, which is the combination such a piece requires: machine precision on the structure, hand work on the saddle-stitched leather. Below it the range — the desk with a eucalyptus top and an all-wood lateral extension included — steps down through a semi-oval at 420 × 165, a rectangle at 280 × 120 and a round table at 140.
The whole family, the luxury executive desk included, follows a drawing by Paolo Galeotti. La Mercanti handles the specification, the shipping and the installation coordination for clients across the United States.

The 720 × 330 cm table is listed as a custom piece, so dimensions follow the room rather than the other way round. What can be adapted, and within which limits, is confirmed in writing by the manufacturer before the order — a table of that size involves structure, transport and access, and none of those should be assumed. La Mercanti puts the question to Codutti with the room drawings attached.
It is inlaid into the eucalyptus, flush with the wood rather than laid over it, and worked entirely by hand. On the round table the curved sides are leather-covered as well, which is a considerably harder operation than a flat panel: the material has to follow a radius without wrinkling at the seam.
Eucalyptus, in three dyed finishes: Cocoa, Desert and Carbon. The catalogue pairs each with specific leathers — Cocoa with coffee or dove grey, Desert with pink, Carbon with black or blue — and the surfaces are finished with a shine that lifts the tone rather than flattening it.
Yes: the executive desk at 240 × 110 × 75 cm, with a leather insert in the top, a fully wooden lateral extension and a drawer unit whose top carries an inlaid leather tray. Because it shares finishes with the tables, a boardroom and the office next to it can be specified as one scheme.
It does: console bookcases up to 368 × 45 × 209 cm with LED spots built into the top, a storage cabinet with transparent glass doors and a leather top, and a bar cabinet with leather fronts and space for a fridge. In a boardroom used for long sessions, that last piece is more useful than it sounds.
A seven-metre table is a logistics project before it is a purchase. Five checks that belong in the specification, not in the delivery week.
Lift dimensions, corridor turns, stairwell width and door openings. The room is almost never the constraint; the path to it is.
Large tables arrive in sections. Where the joints fall, and whether they land under a leather inlay or across it, is a question to settle at drawing stage.
In older buildings and upper floors, a very large solid table plus twenty chairs and occupants is worth checking with the building engineer.
Assembly of a table this size needs the space clear and clean, with the flooring already finished. It is the one delivery that cannot share a day with other trades.
La Mercanti agrees the delivery window and the access route with the building management in writing before production is released.
