Trade terms for professionals and design studios

American spec writers like materials with a name, not an adjective. The Miunn seat can be ordered in Baydur® — a rigid, flame-retardant polyurethane the manufacturer declares on the data sheet, in white or black. Not «durable composite», not «premium polymer»: a named material with a documented character, dense to the touch and built for rooms that seat hundreds of guests a week.

Karri Monni designed Miunn in 2011 as a family of nine versions: four chairs and five design bar stools, fixed at 65 or 75 cm — 25.6 or 29.5 in — or gas-adjustable from 53 to 78 cm (20.9–30.7 in). Beyond Baydur, the shell comes in 3D-curved plywood in several wood finishes or fully upholstered in fabric or hide; frames run from chrome-satin steel to five outdoor powder shades.

La Mercanti delivers Miunn across the United States and worldwide, from sample kit to installed project.

FAQ

Which tests does the manufacturer declare?
EN 1728 for structure, usage level L2 extreme under EN 16139, and level L3 severe under EN 15373 for the adjustable stools; the Hallingdal fabric is additionally declared with the 1 IM ignition test.
What does shot-peened stainless steel mean?
The Aisi 304 frame of the swivel stools is finished by bombarding the surface with tiny beads: the metal takes on an even, matte glow instead of a mirror shine — a working finish that hides fingerprints.
What is the footrest on the wooden-leg stool?
A chrome-satin steel wire, mounted exactly where heels would wear the oak: wood where your hands and calves rest, metal where shoes rub, each material doing what it does best.
What are the outdoor colors called?
Pearl, light blue, brick, olive and dove grey — five named powder shades that join white, black and pistachio on the metal frames.
Is the Hallingdal fabric fire-tested?
Yes — the data sheet declares the 1 IM test specifically on Hallingdal, giving contract projects a documented answer on the upholstery side.
