Every acoustic pod protects the person inside it. CSS_Village is built to do something rarer: improve the acoustics of everyone outside it. Its sound-absorbing fabric panels work in both directions — they quiet the interior for the person on the call, and they correct the echo of the surrounding open space, a combined acoustic optimization that treats the pod as part of the room's soundscape, not an island in it.
That changes the math of a workplace project. Add conventional booths to a hard-surfaced floor and the reverberation between them stays untouched; add CSS_Village by Citterio and every fabric panel you install is also acoustic treatment for the desks nearby. The system designed by Paolo Pampanoni, Pinuccio Borgonovo and UTC Citterio — the maker of the Slender partition — alternates those panels with clear glass, joined by junction elements into micro-architectures where the village layout itself distributes absorption across the plan.
Around the private volumes, the system opens outward — external areas for training, presentations and conviviality, under cantilever beams that carry lighting and curtains. La Mercanti coordinates the project with Citterio and delivers it as one package for American workplaces, with terms confirmed in writing at order confirmation.
