In furniture, addition usually costs: add armrests, add material, add visual bulk. Arper ran the equation backwards. The armrest version of Juno 02, a designer chair by Arper, was restyled to keep the elegant silhouette James Irvine drew while using less material — the arm grows out of the shell's own logic instead of being bolted onto it. It is engineering discipline in service of a form that has not aged since 2012, and it pairs naturally with a monobloc already made at 70% with post-industrial recycled polypropylene.

The rest of the range keeps the same clarity: an open-back four-leg chair, seat cushions applied without glue, a removable cushion rated for outdoor use, six colors drawn from the natural world. Every version stacks for large-scale use, floor-friendly glides ship as standard, and the whole collection carries GS certification to EN 16139:2013 level L2, from conference rooms to restaurant patios. From restaurant patios to conference rooms and home offices across the U.S., La Mercanti supplies Juno 02 with fabric samples ahead of the order.

FAQ

Can Juno 02 furnish a conference room and the cafeteria with one spec?
Yes — Arper lists conference tables, teaching and collaborative spaces, dining and hospitality among the declared uses, so a single product line can run through an entire facility, indoors and out.
Can the chairs be covered when the patio pauses?
Arper's care instructions recommend covering the product with its protective cover during short periods of disuse; for longer breaks and winter, the chair is cleaned, dried and stored indoors.
Which upholstery options exist for the seat cushion?
The indoor cushion takes fabric, leather, coated fabric or customer's own material (COM); the outdoor cushion is made in fabric or customer's fabric only.
What does the GS certification cover for a U.S. specifier?
Every model in the collection is third-party certified to EN 16139:2013 at level L2 — the extreme-use category — under certificate no. Z1A 078117 0004; no separate U.S. seating rating is claimed by Arper for this collection, so the European certificate is the objective line for the spec book.
How is the outdoor cushion maintained through the season?
Take it off after rain and let it dry apart from the chair so water drains; for longer pauses store it clean and dry indoors — cover and padding also separate at end of life.

Run a seasonal patio changeover with Juno 02

Five steps to flip a U.S. restaurant patio from winter storage to first service — and back.

Schedule the flip on a dry day
Move the columns of chairs out while the weather holds; everything that comes out of storage should go into service dry.
Inspect before you deploy
Check shells, glides and the tightness of connections as the maker recommends — five minutes per rack saves a mid-service surprise.
Wipe in circles, not sprays
Soft cloth and warm water bring the shells back; leave commercial stain removers and solvents on the shelf.
Deploy cushions last
Set tables and traffic lanes first, then lay out the outdoor cushions — and brief the closing crew on bringing them in each night.
Reverse the ritual in fall
Clean, dry, column up and store indoors, cushions separate; count the fleet at the door so spring opens with a known number.
