Bespoke: size, colour, finish

Walk through any American lobby and count the people crouched by wall outlets. Lapalma solved that scene with a piece of furniture: the ADD system offers a power-socket box in HPL Fenix® that mounts directly on the seating frame, right where guests sit. Phones charge at the armrest, laptops stay open through the wait — the sofa itself becomes the outlet, and nobody hunts along the baseboards.

Designed by Francesco Rota, the system pairs that practicality with real construction: extruded aluminum frames with crossed elastic belts and perimeter holes, die-cast legs in recycled aluminum, flame-retardant cushions and backrests with fully removable covers in fabric, leather or eco-leather. Modules run from a 23-inch square to a 69-inch bench, with V-elements and 46-inch square islands.

ADD T tables, ADD S storage, the deep ADD SOFT and the new ADD LOUNGE armchair complete the family. La Mercanti coordinates white-glove delivery to your building and confirms dimensions and dates in writing with the order.

FAQ

What sizes do the seating modules come in?
Three straight modules — 69 × 23, 46 × 23 and 23 × 23 inches — plus a V-element at 45¾ × 34¼ inches and a 46-inch square island seating guests on all four sides. The frame stands 1¾ inches tall, and everything shares one sizing grid.
What arrived with the 2026 lounge line?
Two pieces from the Salone del Mobile: the ad170 armchair — 32¼ inches wide, 30-inch back, 17-inch seat — and the 59¾-inch two-seat sofa ad171, with thinned-down profiles and a visually lighter structure, in the manufacturer's own words.
How does the upholstery hold up to heavy traffic?
The foam and fiber are flame-retardant and every cover — fabric, leather or eco-leather — zips off completely for cleaning or replacement. The system is tested to EN 16139 level L2 extreme, the contract-grade severity level.
Can seats face each other for conversations?
Yes — vis-à-vis is one of the published configurations, along with V-shaped and S-shaped runs and square islands. Backrests mount on the inner or outer edge of the frame, so the same modules produce either privacy or conversation.
Is the aluminum in the legs recycled?
The manufacturer declares die-cast legs in recycled aluminum, powder-coated, in corner and central versions — the central leg carrying two adjacent frames at once. The seat frames themselves are extruded aluminum.

How to roll out ADD across a multi-floor building

A lobby program works best in waves. Five steps to phase ADD deliveries without closing the front desk.

Split the project into phases
Sequence floors or buildings and assign each phase its ADD compositions from the master order.
Open with the main lobby
Install the first ADD islands and benches as the quality benchmark every later phase must match.
Sync the electricians
Power feeds must reach each zone before its wave, so the socket boxes go live on installation day.
Inspect wave by wave
Check covers, backrest positions and locks on each floor before the crew moves on.
Reserve budget for additions
Leave room for extra modules — ADD is engineered to grow with the headcount.
