Trade terms for professionals and design studios
Ask anyone who runs a building what goes wrong with furniture and you will hear the same answer twice: things come loose. Levellers, cross-braces, the bolt under the modesty panel, the connector between two tops. Rialto, the designer desk by FIAM Italia, removes the question. There is no fastener on the desk at all — the 15 mm curved glass goes from the floor, across the working surface and down again.
For a corner office that is worth more than it sounds. Nothing to service, nothing that starts to creak when the room is quiet, nothing that a cleaner can knock out of alignment. And when the office is reconfigured, the desk moves as one object instead of a kit.
The rest of the family behaves the same way: the wall-mounted version, the island with a second lower top, the drawer unit on chromed castors and the shelves. Design is credited to CRS Fiam, and the top is rated at 100 kg.
