Look under the thirteen models of the Punk Shark collection and you find three different pieces of steel, each answering a different problem. The chairs — Steam Punk, Iron Shark — sit on a Ø 18 mm round tube, 2 mm thick: light, quick to read, easy to line up. The fixed-height stools use a 33 × 10 mm oval tube, because at 97 to 107 cm of overall height the frame has to resist in one direction more than the other.

The adjustable stools change strategy again: a Ø 44 cm base on the floor, which is also why a Rivet Shark weighs 24 kg against the 4.2 kg of a Shark chair. Weight there is not a cost, it is the reason the stool stays put when somebody leans on it.

The Ska versions take a fifth route — a five-spoke chromed base on castors — for the seats that are meant to move. Same shells, five ways of meeting the floor.

What steel sections are used?
A Ø 18 mm round tube on the framed chairs, a 33 × 10 mm oval tube on the fixed stools and a Ø 44 cm base on the adjustable ones.
How thick is the tube?
2 mm, on all the versions that carry a steel frame.
Which finishes are available for the frame?
Chromed C400, matt chromed C488 on the Rivet stools only, and painted finishes with declared RAL references.
Do any versions come on castors?
Yes, Ska Punk and Ska Shark, on a chromed five-spoke base.
Is there an upholstered option?
Yes, the -P versions: a multilayer wood seat padded with soft-effect leather or eco-leather.

How to choose the frame colour on a Punk or Shark

Chromed, matt chromed or painted to a RAL reference. Five steps.

Decide whether the frame should disappear
Chromed C400 reflects the room and reads as light; a painted frame draws the outline of the chair.
Match it to the seat, not to the wall
The seat colours are fixed codes, so it is easier to start from those.
Check which finishes your version has
Matt chromed C488 is listed on the Rivet stools only.
Use the RAL references in the specification
The painted frames carry declared RAL numbers, so nothing has to be described in words.
