Every university facilities director runs the same numbers: enrollment up, halls fixed, budgets flat. Omnia Evolution was engineered around that equation — Ares Line states it plainly: the system maximizes the number of installed seats while keeping performance and ergonomics high. Tighter rows that still respect posture, structures that follow flat, stepped or sloping floors, and a writing tablet that folds out of the way when the room empties.

The design, by BaccoliniDesign, treats tables and seating as one integrated project rather than two purchases. It already serves university classrooms from the Politecnico di Milano to the University of Limerick, plus corporate training rooms like the Sole 24 Ore business school in Milan.

La Mercanti ships and coordinates Italian contract furniture across the United States — send us your hall drawings and target capacity, and we return a seat count checked with the manufacturer.

FAQ

Is there a wheelchair-accessible position in the system?
Yes — the Upright model includes a dedicated wheelchair workstation, so accessible places are planned into the row layout from the start instead of improvised at the aisle.
Can each seat get power and data?
The inspectable metal channel comes in 1-track (Power, fixed tablet only) or 2-track (Power & Multimedia) versions, pre-arranged for electrical and data sockets, with cable transit from the floor and between channels.
Who is the designer behind the system?
BaccoliniDesign developed Omnia Evolution for Ares Line as a single integrated project — seat, tablet and structure drawn together, which is why the parts align so cleanly in the row.
What is Beam on track?
A structure variant where the floor legs sit on a mobile rail, at most every three seats — the option to look at when a hall needs to reconfigure over its lifetime.
Does the seat close silently?
With the Silent Mechanism option the seat closing is cushioned — worth specifying where lectures, exams and recordings share the same room. It is not combinable with the Soft Plus seat.

How to pick the right seat version for heavy use

Master, Pad or Soft: five questions match the seat build to how hard your hall actually works.

Count weekly teaching hours
Halls in use morning to evening push toward beech plywood surfaces that shrug off contact and cleaning.
Profile your audience
Undergraduate high-rotation rooms wear differently from executive-education rooms where sessions run long.
Decide the comfort layer
Pad adds upholstered panels on exposed plywood; Soft upholsters seat and back fully for the longest sessions.
Match the cleaning regime
Laminated seat and back surfaces are available where daily sanitizing is part of operations.
Order a sample row
La Mercanti arranges finish samples and a configuration review with Ares Line before the purchase order is placed.
