Raw Edges: in the MoMA, the Art Institute and Philadelphia — all three

Mutina stoneware by Raw Edges in a US corporate lobby

One American museum acquiring your work is a milestone; three is a pattern. Raw Edges — the London studio of Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay, founded in 2007 — sits in the collections of the MoMA, the Art Institute of Chicago and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Design Miami/Basel named them Designers of the Future; the future answered with commissions from Louis Vuitton, Vitra and Airbnb, all built on colour, pattern and movement.

Stateside, the collectible hand arrives in a specifiable form: the stoneware they created with Mutina, which La Mercanti ships and coordinates from Italy — museum playfulness, rated for lobby traffic.
