The elliptical boardroom top, drawn by Luca Scacchetti

Rectangular tables rank people; elliptical ones let them talk. For the board room solutions of Ianus, the executive collection he drew for Tecno, Luca Scacchetti offered elliptical tops on open or panelled bases, with power and audio-video equipment that vanishes into the wood when the meeting ends.

A Milanese architect who redesigned terminals at Bologna and Rome airports, he treated an office as a room rather than a floor plan. La Mercanti specifies Ianus for American boardrooms, along with his Wing armchairs for i4Mariani.
