Konstantin Grcic designs for Muji and Louis Vuitton — with the same rigor

Mutina stoneware by Konstantin Grcic in a US corporate lobby

The client list runs the entire economy: Muji on one end, Louis Vuitton and Prada on the other, with Audi, smart/Daimler and Nespresso in between. Konstantin Grcic — German, born 1965, cabinet maker before designer, independent since 1991 — applies one industrial rigor to all of it, which is why the MoMA and the Centre Pompidou keep his work and the Compasso d'Oro has crowned it.

For US projects, the entry point is ceramic: he is part of Mutina's authored stoneware roster, and La Mercanti ships those floors from Italy — engineering-grade design, walkable.
