Inga Sempé's client list reads like a map of European taste

Follow the names and you cross the continent: Cappellini and Edra in Italy, Ligne Roset in France, HAY and Kvadrat in Denmark, Svenskt Tenn and Wästberg in Sweden, Iittala in Finland. Inga Sempé — Parisian, ENSCI 1993, her own studio since 2001 after a Villa Medici year in Rome — designs domestic objects for industrial production, and Europe's best editors keep calling. Paris awarded her its Grand Prix du Design in 2002.

For US projects, La Mercanti carries her ceramic side: she belongs to Mutina's authored circle — European taste, fired into floors that survive American traffic.
