Estel builds a refrigerator into two pieces of the Altagamma storage range: the 70⅞ in cabinet, code GA903, and the 94½ in composition GA955, two 23⅝ in modules around a 47¼ in one with a glazed center top. Both stand 34¼ in high and 18⅛ in deep, finished in veneer, in Pelle Soft or in Ecopelle Time. On the price list they are the only units of the family marked fridge-ready, so the choice of credenza and the choice of fridge are made on the same line.
Under the desk, a frame. Its aluminum legs have a 4⅜ in profile and ⅝ in of thickness, finished in anodized steel-tone aluminum, matte bronze or pewter quartz; a modesty panel 4⅜ in thick links them and holds the electrification bay that feeds the top access. Among designer office desks this is one, the design credit goes to Estel R&D, the manufacturer’s own department, and to no outside name.
Count the people first; the range is drawn around that number. For one person, the fixed desk at 29½ in, from 70⅞ × 35⅜ to 94½ × 39⅜ in, or the version with a service cabinet on an 82⅝ × 66⅞ in footprint; among sit-stand desks, Altagamma Life lifts its top to 49¼ in. For two, the meeting desk of 94½ or 110¼ in, leather at the center and glass on both wings. For a board, the executive suite runs into conference tables up to 236¼ in, octagon included.

After a season of colds, what sanitizes an Altagamma without hurting its surfaces?
Estel’s Product Care sets the sequence: clean first, then sanitize with 0.1% bleach or 0.5% hydrogen peroxide. Where bleach would harm the surface, as on veneer, the maker points to disinfectants with 70% alcohol or to quaternary ammonium compounds. Anodized aluminum takes 70% alcohol on a soft cloth, rinsed with a damp one; glass tolerates alcohol-based household sanitizers followed by a rinse. Pelle Soft and Ecopelle Time are the exception: Estel asks for its own sanitizing detergent through Estel Care, on a soft sponge, after a test in a hidden spot. Then air the room.
Why does the Altagamma file pedestal roll on five castors instead of four?
Because of what the second model holds. The price list offers two pedestals of identical size, 26 × 18½ × 22⅞ in: GA380 with three drawers, and GA381 with one drawer above a deep file drawer for folders and oddments, which Estel equips with a fifth castor. Both roll on castors and both open with a recessed handle lined in brushed steel, and the finish is taken from the desk: Pelle Soft, Ecopelle Time or veneer. The two models share every measurement, so the order line carries one code or the other, GA380 or GA381, and the fifth castor comes with the code.
Leather or wood: what are the two faces of the Altagamma top access?
The lid in the top can be upholstered in leather or made of wood, and the price list offers it in two builds: bifacciale or with a frame, as Estel names them in its tables. Under the lid runs the cable bay of the modesty panel, which the price list says can hold a large quantity of cables, reached by the user from the top. One limit is printed with an asterisk: the clear glass top cannot be wired with a top access, so the lid belongs to the veneer, Ecopelle Time and Pelle Soft tops only. On the Life version the top access is always included in the code.
How is the Altagamma meeting desk divided between leather and glass?
Into three tops on one frame. On the 94½ in version, codes GAZ20 and GAZ22 cover a center of 31½ in in veneer, Ecopelle Time or Pelle Soft between two glass tops of 31½ in each; on the 110¼ in version the center grows to 47¼ in and the glass wings stay at 31½ in. The modesty panel matches the center top. The side tops are always clear glass, whatever the center. Two more families exist, all-glass with codes GAZ80 and GAZ82, and Pelle Soft with veneer sides in 94½, 110¼ and 118⅛ in, GAZ26 to GAZ30.
What does the Life version of Altagamma add when it comes with a return?
A fixed return top of 47¼ × 23⅝ in set above a veneer cabinet with drawers and an open bay, which takes the whole composition to 86⅝ in deep, codes GAA75 to GAA78. The main top keeps the Sit&Stand travel from 29½ to 49¼ in, while the modesty panel, the side panels and the cabinet stay in veneer. In its 2019 catalog Estel also shows the return as an option that rises through the same range, with a push-button pad and a display of the travel; the price list files the return as fixed, so the option is the catalog’s word, not a code.
Building the technical file for an Altagamma order: five documents to collect
Every number in an Altagamma specification lives in one of five documents that Estel publishes. Where to find codes, drawings, outlet modules, care rules and finish samples before the order goes out.
Pull the Executive & Meeting pages
Open the Estel price list Executive & Common Area, edition EU-09/21, at pages 16 to 36: that is the Altagamma chapter, with the overview of versions, the code tables for every desk and table, the dimensioned drawings in inches and the outlet modules. The list itself states that where it disagrees with a catalog on sizes or technical features, the price list prevails.
Add the storage chapter
The cabinets and pedestals of the collection are not in the desk pages but in the Storage & Cupboard chapter, pages 118 to 124 of the same list. There you find the finish table, the two pedestals, the service cabinets in three lengths, the 34¼ in cabinets and the three compositions, with the lengths in inches and the codes that go on the order.
Keep the catalog for the rooms
Estel’s 2019 catalog for the same range gives the collection pages 12 to 21: the presentation text of the price list, plus the photographed rooms with their captions, which name the finishes actually shown, the companion pieces and the versions. The captions are also where Estel describes the return of the Life as able to rise from 29½ to 49¼ in, an option the price list does not code.
File the Product Care sections
Estel’s Product Care 2020 covers the materials of the collection in separate sections: Veneer, Leather, Eco-leather, Glass, Aluminum and Metals. Pull those pages together with the general chapter on room conditions and the sanitization page. Each section says, in the manufacturer’s words, what to use on that material and what to keep away from it.
Save the samples and the images
