Most task chairs go into the boardroom as an afterthought. The se:kit has a build for it. The conference swivel chair sits on a 4-star die-cast aluminum base with plastic or felt glides, so it turns but does not roll away from the table; the Kinetic Swing mechanism opens 18° and tips the seat 5° forward, and the weight recognition sets the backrest pressure without anyone touching a knob. Two backs, medium 24¾ in or high 28¾ in, in mesh or full upholstery, and 2D design armrests as standard. It is the same chair as the one at the desks, which is the point.
Back at the desks, the same parts become the task and ergonomic chair designed by Falk Blümler in-house at Sedus: a 5-star base on hard or soft casters, a standard or comfort five-zone seat, and a mechanism chosen by how long the person sits, from the no-adjust Kinetic Swing to the Similar with an individual weight dial. Mesh or upholstery, medium, height-adjustable or high back, six armrest designs or none: nearly everything clips on without tools.
Then the lobby and the back office: guest chairs on four legs, five to a stack, cantilevers, the counter version with a 19⅝ in footring at reception, and se:kit 24 where the room runs three shifts. Standard is a continuously adjustable gas spring: pull the button, sit to lower, stand to raise. The Sedo-Lift III replaces it with a pneumatic rack that Sedus calls virtually wear-free and guarantees for 30 years; it also cushions the sit-down in the lowest position. On the counter build the gas spring comes with the footring.
Yes, with code 3000. The six armrest designs run from 1D to 4D, all height-adjustable, and the pads are black on every version except the 2D design one, which turns basalt gray on the light gray model. The 360° rotating 4D pads are reserved for the Type A build.
As an option, in three forms. On the mesh back it adjusts in height (code 1801) or in height and depth (1802); on the upholstered back it adjusts in height with an adaptive depth (1803). Height is set with both hands after taking the load off the backrest; depth with the central lever. Code 1800 is the chair without it.
Two TÜV Rheinland certificates issued on December 22, 2025 and valid to December 21, 2030: TX 60184428 for the se:kit swivel chairs and TX 60184426 for the guest chairs, both tested with selected fabrics from the Sedus collection under the TÜV Rheinland certified criteria for seating furniture.
The sn-122 mesh swivel chair on a polished aluminum base weighs 34.2 lb (15.49 kg) without packaging, roughly half metal; the sn-230 cantilever guest chair weighs 18.8 lb (8.52 kg). Both figures come from the Sedus environmental product information sheets, which also break the weight down by material.
A se:kit rolls on whatever casters the order named, and the floor has the last word. Sedus writes the rules in its instructions for use; here they are in five moves, braked counter set included.
