Design for the many, drawn by hand: Roberto Giacomucci

Roberto Giacomucci architect and designer of the Bold58 executive collection

His stated mission as an art director is refreshingly unfashionable: spread good projects in a capillary, democratic way — design that reaches many, not a lucky few. Roberto Giacomucci, an architect from Ancona, pairs that mission with a craftsman's discipline: know the soul of the material, check every step of its transformation, keep the wit but never draw what a factory cannot build. Recognitions have followed from 2002 through 2025, and critic Andrea Branzi counted him in the generation shown at the Triennale design museum in 2007.

His office chapter belongs to About Office, the manufacturer from his own hometown: the Bold58 executive collection, which La Mercanti quotes, ships and assembles for American boardrooms. Democratic by method, executive by destination.
