She drew the patterns of the eighties — Memphis founder Nathalie Du Pasquier

The exuberant surfaces America remembers from the eighties owe a debt to her pencil: Nathalie Du Pasquier, born in Bordeaux in 1957 and Milanese since 1979, was a founding member of Memphis and drew its textiles and surfaces. In 1987 she turned to painting full-time — and in 2019 Mutina lured her back to design with four projects: Mattonelle Margherita, Paesaggi, Brac and the BRIC installation presented at MUT 4.

To American projects, La Mercanti delivers that lineage from Italy: Margherita floors with Memphis in their DNA — pattern with a pedigree, built for daily traffic.
